The prototype of Simply Blue inspired the creation of Nutty Artisan Foods. It looks interesting with its green bloomy rind and the taste is sharply mushroomy, certainly of interest for lovers of strong blue cheese.

From a small vegan cheese maker in southernmost Spain come this goat cheese alternative. While it does not have the sharp goat cheese taste, we appreciate the use of few ingredients and mild mushroomy taste.

We assume Gran Prosociano is offered as an alternative to parmesan cheese. While is looks much like it, we found its taste to be so salty though that it is simply not something we could enjoy on its own.

Epic is similar to Cheddarton, another mature cheddar-alternative from Violife. We found neither clearly ‘mature’ and thought Epic to be more sweet and nutty compared to the relative saltiness of Cheddarton.

An interestingly named, pale-yellow, mature cheddar-alternative. After we mused a bit about saturated fat contents and cheese colours, we thought it is more similar to other Violife vegan cheeses than cheddar.

An economically priced, home brand feta-style vegan cheese of the Albert Heijn supermarket. It compares well against similarly manufactured branded options.

Aged Gondino resembles a mature pecorino stye of cheese. While coconut oil and starch are among the main ingredients, we were pleasantly surprised by the taste. Great for grating over pasta.

Scotland. Not exactly a region known for its coconuts or coconut oil. However, this vegan creamery located on the Scottish Isle of Bute knows how to use it to make a crumbly and relatively tangy feta alternative. So far, it is one of the better tasting feta alternatives we have reviewed.

A semi-cured vegan cheese from the south of Spain with a clear taste of garlic. It makes for an interesting taste variation on a cheese platter.

Economically priced home brand of the Albert Heijn supermarket in the Netherlands. As the taste and texture stand comparison with the branded slices, we think it is a good option for a cheese sandwich.
